When I was a little girl

Dreaming . . .

Mostly violets and

bright pure yellow buttercups

I remember clearly

How magical it was that flowers

Lived forever . . .

Their petals and love

Awake in books

Held safe in wax paper

While some fell loose . . .

Moms heart

Captured the simplicity of flowers

Pressed and dreaming

Reality . . .

Pressing flowers is magical.
