Meet Carole, long time contributor & winner of our Creative Non-Fiction Contest!! Carole has been a HUGE supporter, contributor and source of inspiration and encouragement for over 10 years. We are so blessed to have her on our team and so very happy she won this last contest with her submission, "Listening to the Silence"! Here's a word from our winner:

 

"I am now A "little old lady," at 84, but I'm still enjoying life.  I exercise every day and do my best to eat healthy.  I had 4 children (son deceased), 5 grand-children, and 6 great-grandchildren. As the kids got older, they moved and now have busy lives, so I started sending them a Kids Newsletter once a month. I tell them about lessons I learned in life, My growing up years, our marriage and a sprinkle of humor. I truly love life, even with ups and downs. 

 

About "Listening to the Silence --soon after I read those words from a magazine, I went into a state of reverie of my pleasant childhood experiences on a farm.  When I was a youngster, I loved to roam and, thus I wrote down the experiences I had those early days of childhood." 

 

Carole's photo was taken by her daughter, Tina. She wears it when her and her hubby watch the horse races. Carole is truly a love of life!  "Listening to the Silence" will be featured in our Summer Edition.
