Behind the voice of motherhood
A million strong of precious good
The most amazing group to walk this earth
Endowing life, the gift of birth.
Blessed are they, to carry such power
A fierceness that only a mom can endower
From newborns to toddlers, teens and beyond
Their wings stretch with them, an iridescent bond.
No matter how tough the road is to travel
They power through with their children as their lives unravel
The bumps and the potholes and the trials of life
They twist and they turn with all their might.
And just when they feel they can't give anymore
The underlying worry and fret underscored
The nerves and fraught slowly assuage
As the universe understands this gracious stage.
Sons and daughters now on their own
A song, a sonnet, a sacred poem
Yours forever, your love, your brood
In this miraculous journey called Motherhood.
