Is it Easy to Be A Creative Woman?
According to traditional philosophy, woman were to be treated as objects not as human beings. For example, Aristotle believed that “women are imperfect men” and that “the function of women is limited to reproduction like animals”. Jean-Jacques Rousseau said, “Society will collapse if a woman has not grown from a young age to obey a man.” Freud believed that “women are inferior to men because of their lack of a biological system”. And Kant believed that “women can not be full

Time Was
Time was I had you close by, day and night, awake and asleep. ~~~ Now you come for a few days, a week, and it’s so easy to accept your return, ~~~ like a familiar blanket to curl up under, so hard to accept the return of your absence after what is a mere moment in my heart. ~~~ I remember time was I thought you’d be mine forever in some way, distance be damned, then proceeded to teach you how to be your own. ~~~ Mother’s job done. I miss the blanket. ~Sara Sarn

My Kids Have Been Abducted!
The world must be coming to an end or something! First my daughter bought mulch for the yard and now today, she decided to clean the house . . . . . . AND the other two big ones helped! My son was scrubbing baseboards and cleaning fans. WTH???? I am so scared as to what is to come. . . “Dear aliens that took my real kids, you may keep them for a while . . . I could get used to this now!!” Courtesy Deanna “McCrazy” Wolverton

Spring Break
My children have been fighting for 240 minutes. Yes, I counted. 240 or 14 thousand 400 seconds of whining and fussing about absolutely nothing. Nothing is wrong. They have food and clean clothes, a house dry from the rain and spring storms. 14 thousand 400 seconds of stressing me out. Not long ago, the sounds of distress the blister of quarrel spilled over to my feet’s edge and I would mediate over their protests a habit I had to quit in order to initiate growth

A January Wreath
When it’s time to take the Christmas wreath off the front door I always feel a bit let down, and I can’t help but imagine the poor door shivering naked in the cold winter air. I know the stores immediately restocked all the Christmas shelves with new goodies in anticipation of that sweetheart of a February holiday, but it’s still too early to hang a Valentine wreath on my door. It’s also too early for springtime florals, even though I’d love to see something in bloom. This si

Paradise Found
Lay me down between the covers, pull the words up to my ears: saints and angels, liars, lovers, worlds of cheers and tears and fears. Wrap me up in worlds of wonder; I’ll read and dream through timeless years. Lay me down between the covers, pull the words up to my ears.

Simple Words of Kindness
Today I helped at my son’s school. As I did some paperwork to help my son’s English teacher with i-ready reading scores, a student came out from history class and sat near where I was doing some school work. She had lovely long hair that was dyed pink half way down her back. She was crying. I believe she found history hard. Her teacher came out and said it would be okay and not to cry. He was trying to be nice, but the level of school work these days is most challenging. I fe
